Regardless of race, creed, gender, social background or political affiliation, today I hope you take a moment to remember the men and women who have made - and are still willing to make - the ultimate sacrifice to defend others in the name of freedom.
We have not, as a country, always made the best decisions and I guarantee you we will make more mistakes in the future. Countries are made up of individual people, and people are inherently flawed. Nonetheless, the price for these decisions - good and bad - has been and will be paid by the members of our armed services.
Thank you for your courage, commitment and sacrifice.
